# Schedule a send

## Why this matters

Reminders work best when they arrive at the right time, such as the day before an appointment or at the start of the working day. Scheduling lets you prepare a send now and have it go out later.

## Steps

1. On the **Send New** tab, under **Send When:**, choose **Later**.
2. Choose the **Date:**. You can pick any day up to 14 days ahead.
3. Choose the **Time:**. Times are in 10-minute steps.
4. [Preview and send](/docs/sending/preview-and-send/) as usual.

When the job is queued, ExcelSend confirms "Your messages will be sent at the time specified".

Choose **Now** to send as soon as the job is queued.

## Common problems

**A scheduled send went out at 9:00 instead of 9:50**
In add-in version 3.2.114, times before 10:00 lose their minutes: 9:50 is sent at 9:00. Until this is fixed, schedule on the hour for times before 10:00, or use a time from 10:00 on.

**I want to cancel a scheduled send**
Jobs are managed in the ExcelSend portal. Open the job from the link in the confirmation or from the **Reports** tab.
<!-- NEEDS CAPTURE: how to cancel a queued job in the portal (screen and button label). -->
